How we do business
We have defined our approach to doing business based on regular business process audits conducted to ensure that Dunia Link Communications is constantly meeting or exceeding its objectives and working towards the realization of its vision and mission. Our approach is achieved through a blend of (i) our own internal professional staff, (ii) strategic local and international partnerships, and (iii) keeping a rich and dynamic database of proven ICT consultants.
We have therefore a defined a clear business process that lays emphasis on the quality and reliability of our products and service delivery and this approach is specific to our products and services as enumerated herebelow in broad terms.
I. Our approach for ICT 4 Development
In providing consultancy services we have adopted two key guiding principles of knowldge transfer and do-no-harm to guide our internal standards of service delivery in consulting for development. Our technical assistance package is always designed to ensure that there is maximum tranfer of knowledge from our experts to the target beneficiaries and contracting authorities with out causing any harm to the socio-economic environment within which we operate. In our research activities, we also employ participatory approaches to executing tasks.
To meet or exceed the quality and delivery standards of our clients, Dunia Link Communciations Limited deliberately and strategically keeps a rich and dynamic database of proven ICT consultants and development experts, who are retained in our company through signed contractual agreements. This strategic approach that is inherently customer-centred in design, ensures that we always have the right profile for a team of consultant(s) for a specific terms of reference provided. This approach has seen us delivery quality and in-time projects for many of our clientele who are international development organizations.
II. Our approach for Hardware and Software Products
Dunia Link Communications Limited is not an equipment manufacturer but our strategic approach is to work with our various partners to ensure that the customer’s technical and delivery standards are fully met or exceeded at the most appropriate pricing. This strategic approach enables us to objectively advice our customers on the various models and configuration options that can best suit the budgets and technical requirements that have been benchmarked in-house.
In line with our core value of reliable service delivery, we are able to make deliveries of hardware equipment within an average of seven working days for huge consignments and within a maximum of three days for unit or small consignments.
Our hardware and software trading partners include Hewlett Packard, DELL, Microsoft East Africa, D-LINK, Compaq, etc. either directly or through local distributors and resellers.
III. Our approach for ICT Services
Our approach in implementing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) stems from the fact that quality and timely preventive maintenance saves our clients time and financial resources and at the same time ensures that we have more time on our hands to design and deploy better solutions for our customers.
In our eServices, we adopted and adapted the Standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in deploying online solutions for our customers where we have made special emphasis on the Customer Discovery phase, our own innovative addition to the SDLC phases. We have also partnered with reliable hosting providers such as Brinkster and Burton Hosting, for dedicated macro hosting solutions that enable our customers to enjoy the benefits of our economies of scale.
The Technical Department is the line department specifically established to meet or exceed these specific objectives.
Integration of the learning-process models in the way we do business…
Finally, our way of doing business is guided by the Learning-Process Model (see Checkland) which calls for an iterative process of feedback and learning within a dynamic environment that then leads to a constant improvement of business process models. We are therefore constantly seeking out better ways of enabling us achieve or mission and vision to be the preferred source of ICT knowledge, products and service in Africa.
